Bacsactive-IP Enterprise Used To Process Critical Council Payments
As the fifth largest local authority in Wales, Caerphilly County Borough Council employs around 9,000 people making it the largest employer in the area and the tenth largest in Wales. The Council delivers a wide range of services to the 170,000 people living in the county borough including education, environmental services, social service, finance, highways, leisure services and consumer protection. When the time came to change their Bacs payments service provider, the Council decided upon the Fundtech Bacsactive-IP Enterprise solution.
Features, Cost and Usability Win Through
The Council went through a tender process to look for a new provider. As Paul Lewis, IT Development and Support Manager explains: “In brief, Fundtech won on features, cost and usability. Initially Bacsactive-IP was used across eight Council services. Payroll, Council Tax and Rent alone account for 66,000 transactions each month” continues Paul.
User-Friendly, Web-Based Solution
Bacsactive-IP provides organisations with a flexible and reliable and secure electronic funds transfer system. Users at the Council found the web-based system both intuitive and user friendly. With very little training, finance staff were able to process Bacs payments with the new system immediately after installation. Using the Bacsactive-IP client screens via Internet Explorer, staff can now create, authorise and submit payments from multiple workstations across the organisation.
