The Cost of Paper Invoicing in the UK Goes Up Again

The price of sending out paper invoices in the UK is set to rise again on 30th April. The price of First and Second class stamps for standard letters will go up 14p to 60p and 50p respectively.  According to BBC News “the 30% price rise in first-class stamps, and 39% rise for second-class, marks the biggest annual increase in percentage terms since 1975. Ten years ago, a first-class stamp cost 27p, and a second-class cost 19p.”

E-invoicing is Key to Automating the Treasury Function

An interesting article in yesterday’s FT by Jane Bird (‘Risk and cash control: Many treasury systems still fail the ‘user friendly’ test’)  highlighted the need for more automation in Treasury management systems. She mentions that ongoing critical calculations such as risk,  debt and investment strategy which are all currently done manually will eventually be taken over by treasury software.  The article rightly states that “the move towards automation extends far down the treasury value chain to areas such as electronic invoice processing.”
