Accountis and Web 2.0
Accountis services utilize Web 2.0 characteristics to offer innovative real-time transaction services and interactive trading networks for businesses worldwide.
What is Web 2.0
Web 2.0 has now entered everyday language aided by the phenomenal success of companies such as MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, Youtube and many others. In essence, Web 2.0 is a loose definition for the application of web technologies such as AJAX and Ruby on Rails amongst others and more importantly, the user contributions that define many of these sites and the viral effect of large numbers of people contributing their own content.
Introducing Enterprise 2.0
In the Enterprise domain, Web 2.0 has only recently been discussed in terms of its business application. At Accountis, we use a number of Web 2.0 technologies such as Ajax, Django and enabling technologies including RSS for notifications of new invoices, new payments received and new suppliers entering our trading network. We are working on a number of new services that can be described as Web 2.0 and these will be released over the coming months.
